Life with the Paul Wilson's

After the Mayo Reunion, Paul and Leslie took a few days off to celebrate their 15th Wedding Anniversary. Their three kids came home with Grandpa and Grandma. We have pictures of their 'work' times. We also played cards, went to the beach and enjoyed one another.

Then last weekend, they hosted a Birthday Party Carnival (their 3rd annual) for Rajah and Spencer's July birthdays. Pat and Anna and family were away at a wedding, but the rest of us Wilson's were there along with Grandma Janice, and their neighbors and friends. After the carnival, they celebrated Paul's new job of teaching with a Minneapolis Charter School. He starts this coming week with the other teachers. The kids start after Labor Day. He will be in their nursing care program.

We can't forget the party girl, Genevieve. She really liked the party too.

A Busy Week

Retirement isn't for everyone. But we sure enjoy it.
Monday - We volunteered at the Wayzata Church Rummage Sale all morning and visited with sister-in-law, Gloria in the afternoon. The Rummage Sale is August 13 & 14th! Mark it on the calendar. Wayzata Community Church 9 AM til 6 or 8 PM. Marlys remembered to go to Bible study in the evening.

Tuesday - Rajah's 6th birthday! We didn't get to see her, but sang over the phone. In the afternoon was Burton Peterson's funeral at our church. Then Larry helped Willie put on new brakes.
Wednesday - Larry was out cleaning out someone's barn. Marlys set up the quilt frame at church for the next day. JP passed his driver's test! Hurrah, JP! In the evening our friends came over. Larry got them talking about how they met and what it was growing up. He made a tape of their conversation. It was really fun to listen in on the conversation. He will make copies for their two daughters.
Thursday - Marlys was at Missionary Work Day tying a quilt to be sent to Indians in northern MN. In the afternoon we drove to St. Cloud to complete the paperwork for Marlys' retirement from substitute teaching. She will be collecting her retirement checks now. Then we spent time with Pete, Anne and Genevieve at the park and out to eat. It was a lovely day for a walk and a good talk.
Friday - Larry and JP went garage saling and looking for a part for JP's car. In the evening we went to Clearwater Days for the parade and to square dance. After the square dance and some polka/old time music we enjoyed the fire works. It was a great ending to the evening.
Saturday - Marlys went to a bridal shower in the morning and we both attended an 80th birthday party in the afternoon.
It has been a busy week.
