More Camping, Final prep

We spent another weekend 'up north.' This time we were the old timers with the Dick Wilson family. It was so beautiful at the lake. Fires, fishing, food ... a relaxing weekend. It has been a long time since we spent time with these families. We missed Chris by a few minutes.
On the way home we stopped to see Bob at the lake. He couldn't find the cabin. We had a hard time too. Then we stopped to see more cousins. We did get to Pat's at dusk. It wasn't too late when we arrived home.
We set up an appointment to take JP's graduation pictures on Monday. Isn't he handsome! We are proud of this oldest grandson.

The rest of the week we've been taking care of last minute details before heading to Norway and Ukraine. We hope to keep you up to date on our travels.
Thanks for reading.

Mayo Pirate Camp Out

Yo Ho HO
The pirate camp out was a success!

The Paul Wilson's arrived early to help with set up and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Wed Thurs and Fri were beautiful but a bit humid. Great for cooling off in the river. Larry and Marlys arrived on Thursday to join in the work crew and also enjoy the wonderful 'camp grounds'. Scott arrived just in time to foreman the crew to set up the big tent. The Mayo weekend started on Friday night but Judy and Steve were the only newbees. We watched Madagascar 2.

Saturday brought some rain. We were sure glad the big tent was up. However, people were hearty and came anyway. It didn't rain when we were eating and for most of the afternoon. It didn't keep the kids off the water either. We played some great games of Bananas. Saturday night there were more kids staying over and we watched Race to Witch Mountain. It rained really hard during the night but no one got too wet.

Sunday started out cloudy but when Pat's family arrived about 1, the sun came out and stayed out the rest of the day. The humidity was gone and the wind was down. Again the river was popular. This was the day we turned everyone into pirates. Then they had a treasure hunt which ended with the pirates capturing the boat and finding the final treasurers.

Good food both days. Great times of playing together. It is wonderful to connect with the bigger family at least once a year. Hope even more people will come next time.
