Matt and Luke spend the week with us

This past week, Anna and the older boys went to Scout camp in northern MN. Pat wanted to work most of the week, so Matt and Luke came and stayed with us. We had a busy week. They have produced another power point of the week's activities. Included are all the different projects that grandpa had for them to do as well as "Dad's School" that Pat has them doing. They read and write each day and take a mile walk. Between all of these, we were very busy.


Yes that was a skunk skin that he was working with!


Larry has finished his bowling ball project. He successfully created a fountain which balances a bowling ball in the water.

Big Oaks Grandparents' Camp

We camped with our grandchildren this week near our home. Paul's three children stayed with us first. We had a party for everyone on Wednesday, and then two of Pat's kids stayed. Pat's kids were at camp on Sunday when we started so the kids had 'cousin time' Sunday. Anna brought the boys back on Monday to swim with the cousins. Then on Wed. everyone except Paul (who was working) had supper together. This way, we got 'Grandparent time' with each group of kids.

The 'gang' went swimming at the party on Wednesday. Pat took his lunch hour to enjoy the pool. Gen skipped the pool since it was really chilly. However, they keep the pool at a really warm temp (80's) so if you stay in the water, it is warm. Each day the kids swam a couple of times. Grandma only swam once, but was the lifeguard every time. Grandpa enjoyed a couple of swims.

Pete and family joined us for supper on Wednesday. We officially celebrated the July birthdays for Spencer and Mark. Rajah's party will be later in the month. Gen participated with the rest of the kids, running and enjoying her cousins. She played house with Rajah near the tent.

Luke and Matthew stayed with us Wednesday to Friday. They biked, hiked, got clams, had a friend at camp (Max), swam, played games and ate!

Larry and Marlys celebrated their 44th anniversary July 2nd and on July 4th they attended Sara Wilson's wedding to Paul Vogler.
