Monday was totem pole day for us. We have had beautiful weather with blue skies and sunny days and clear nights. We are actually hot! We stayed in Settler's Cove to the north of town the first night and we are going back there tonight. it is on the water so we can walk on the stoney beach at low tide. Marlys saw a starfish. The camp is in the rain forest. The trails and campsites are surrounded by huge cedar, hemlock and sitka spruce trees with lots of green plants and moss on the forest floor. Mistletoe hangs from the trees. Larry says it's not mistletoe, but it hangs on the branches. There is a beautiful waterfall near the campsites. We have spent time on the trails, in the woods and in the busy touristy town with lots of cruise ship guests.
The people are really nice and we are enjoying this first leg of our trip in Alaska.
