Teaching in Ping Tong - Lin Bien

On Monday, we traveled by train to Lin Bien which is on the other side of the bay from Dong Gong. We met up with many others from the Kung Ho church to plan and carry out three days of English Camp. We used many of the same lessons from last week. In the morning we had up to 50 children from 4 to about 12 years of age. After an introductory ice breaker, we sang a couple of songs and then Bob told the Bible story for the day. Marlys, Laura and Pelia led music. Larry, Bob and Andrew led games. We had snack between the time for switching classes. At the end of the morning, Bob told another part of the story, we reviewed key points, or they had announcements.
Singing O Happy Day and acting out the story of Jesus calming the storm
In the afternoon, we had 16 junior and senior high students. We didn't stress the Bible much but they did sing O Happy Day! a couple of days. We talked about food the first day, sports the next day and then school today. They really enjoyed active games. We used a lot of the ideas from Kung Ho's high school ministry. We had to be flexible because things changed often. Also, Laura got sick and only taught Tuesday morning. She is back in Taipei tonight and was seeing a doctor when she got there. Hope he can give her something to help her. We have been praying for her here in Taiwan and I know you have been praying for her in MN too. It was a real pleasure to work with the staff at this church and the dedicated workers who came from Taipei. We even met a woman from Kaohsiung who took time off work to come and help. She was one of our students when we were at her church six years ago! God is so good to us! Thanks for your prayer support. We will attend the final program and evangelistic meeting Friday night. In the meantime we are relaxing at our beautiful hotel.
